Notebook Catwalk, Social Scientist, and Math Games...Learning is fun in 207!

We have begun writing in 207!  To get revved up for our first writing assignments, we decorated our notebooks to reflect our personalities.  We then walked or danced down the "catwalk" to show off our amazing work.  Check out some of our poses below!

We have also been creating posters to review the 4 Social Scientists.  Check out the hard work and collaboration going on in 207!

Do you know all of the multiples of 2 counting to 100?  We played Multiple Take Away to practice our multiplication and addition math facts.

Welcome back to School!!!

It's going to be a fantastic year in 4th grade!  207 is up and running.  We have 19 amazing superstars that are excited and ready to learn.  Tremont, our little furry friend, is here and prepared to help us this year.

We started off with an experiment.  Did you know that you can clean a penny with vinegar and salt?  We performed a chemical reaction!

We also started reading our first story.  What would you do if you found a stray dog?  Would you keep it?  Ask your child about our story Because of Winn-Dixie.

This week has been all about getting to know each other and building a classroom community.  We have played games, as well as shared information about our summers, likes, and dislikes.  Did you know we have a student who dislikes pickles?  We also have multiple athletes, including someone who completed a Spartan race. We noticed that many of our 207 friends like lime or neon green.  Family is very important to our fourth graders and we will explore that theme in our stories and with our Immigration unit.

It has been such a wonderful start to the 2016-2017 school year.  I can't wait to see what next week brings.

Reminder that Open House is Wednesday, September 14th at 6pm.  The first session in Room 207 is from 6:15-6:45pm.  The second session in Room 207 is from 6:55-7:25pm.  I look forward to meeting you all next week!
