Open House Information

Back to School Night for Grown-Ups 2017

Back to School Night for Grown-Ups is scheduled for this Wednesday, September 13th from 6:00 to 7:30.  The night will begin in the cafeteria at 6:00 with opening remarks from the principal.  We will leave the back doors of the cafeteria open to parents in order that they can enter and exit the building through the cafe.  At 6:15 parents are free to proceed to classrooms.  We will continue to have two informational sessions.  The first session will be held from 6:15-6:45.  The second session will run from 6:55-7:25.   Parents are welcome to attend either session.

This is a great evening when teachers and parents can discuss expectations, curriculum, classroom
procedures and establish partnerships between home and school.  We regret that we are unable to
provide child care.  We appreciate parents making arrangements for the care of their children in order to attend this important evening.

Bridges

This week will be our third week with our Bridges Volunteers.  We had a getting to know you session where we created group names and have made connections to why the program is called Bridges.  Last week the fourth graders took their volunteers on a tour of the school.  We compared schools today to schools in the past.  There were a lot of differences, but many similarities as well.  This week we will be sharing heirlooms and traditions.  I can't wait to see what everyone brings in!

Nora made a Mona Lisa Mrs. Visocchi!

Megan showcased one of the many murals that are on display at Pine Glen.

Chloe shared some of the amazing art on display for the Art Show on Thursday, May 11th.

Susan brought a rotary phone for us to try.  No texting here!

Akash showed off his sister's Kindergarten classroom.

Snow!

It may be Spring, but we are still enjoying the snow!  Thank you Ms. Govoni for taking us snowshoeing and sledding.  It took some teamwork to put the shoes on, but once we had them on we were off and running.  We had a blast!

Dr. Seuss and Read Across America Day

Image result for dr seuss

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!  We did many fun activities to celebrate Read Across America and Dr. Seuss.  Yesterday we had an all school reading time in the gym.  For 15 minutes we read a book of our choosing.  Many of our fourth graders said it wasn't long enough and they would have liked more time.  We also shared Dr. Seuss books with our Kindergarten buddies from Mrs. Parnell's class.

Today we did some fun Dr. Seuss inspired activities.  There was pin the green egg on the platter, tic-tac-toe, snowball toss into a hat, and Bingo.
