Judy was a volunteer during our first Bridges Program, which is a wonderful inter-generational program that brings seniors into our classrooms to do activities with our students. This program will take place at Pine Glen toward the end of the year. Judy continues to volunteer biweekly in our classroom by reading a story to us. This is a great opportunity for our students to hear both fiction and nonfiction stories that pertain to what we are learning in class. Today Judy read The Wondrous Whirligig by Andrew Glass. This story aligns perfectly with our studies of force, motion and flight as it is about the Wright Brothers and their first ideas of flight.
